Subwoofer Enclosures
Well I've pretty much decided to build a custom subwoofer enclosure for the luggage area of my 81. I've done a lot of searching through the forum and got a lot of great idea's and pictures. It's kind of a pain trying to find all the posts so I was wondering if everyone that has done a nice install in their cargo area would post a picture of the install and the final product so you could help me decide how I wanted to build it. Thanks for the help. JAson

Your right great pics but with this post I was hoping to bring all these great stero installs into one easily searchable post instead of having them spread out all over Rennlist in different post with various titles. Come on guys get those pics in here:-)

Great pics Jim. Thanks. Now if we can just get the others with the speaker upgrades to chime in we'll have something.

No pic but I'll just offer some ideas about mine.
I've got a pretty standard enclosure with two ten-inch subs. Made it myself to fit in the back. The fun part is having two metal straps screwed on the bottom that point at the luggage tie-downs. I use some chain splices (the ovals with that screw closed on one side, whatever they're called) and connect the straps to tie-downs. Then I can drive pretty hard and still get them out when I need room or am at the track.
The amp is mounted to the bottom of an uber-fancy plywood spare cover. No spare in there so the perfect place for getting to the battery.

Here is what i did in my -90GT, it is a 10" closed box and it kicks hard and fast.
It uses the spare tire compartment and since I never had one it made a lot of sense, the sound now is amazing.

I did not build this so I cannot offer much besides the pic. The speaker is mounted over the spare for obvious reasons. The compartment is cut in half so you can remove the speaker half and lay it on the portion covering the amp when you need access to the batt or spare. The threaded ***** are fine threads. Use a coarse thread.

Ok guys after not catching the mail man yesterday to get my suspension parts the weekend was shot. I decided I had to do something on the shark so after much thought and encouragement from you posts here's my sub box.
One bummer mod that I hated to do was I had to screw down the subs board because they vibrated way to much.
It's not quite finished I'll be adding speaker covers and a capacitor soon. Trouble with a small town can't get anything on the weekend.
I'll post a before picture in a few minutes.
