Dude. It's a little too soon.
For those of you outside the general vicinity, it might also help to mention that Adam is in New Jersey, and in New Jersey we don't have soil, we have sand. Even inland, you see sand on the sides of the streets, you see it on your doormat, and if you have a torn boot on your axles, you find sand in the grease. It gets EVERYWHERE.
Adam, you may have gotten it before it got through the grease, but if some got in there, maybe it added a bit of friction to the mix and although the ball bearings may not have gotten pitted, maybe the extra friction caused the temp to rise enough to re-temper the ball bearings. Probably not a problem once they're re-packed, but maybe would account for the discoloration.

At this stage of uncertainty, it wouldn't hurt to exchange axles side to side .... and leave your blue ***** torqued against the cages in the opposite rotation: others can pontificate about the clinical implications of blue ***** .....

Does judicious application of the right pedal help alleviate blue *****?
Adam, what's your ride height?
Are the driveshafts close to parallel to ground when car is sitting happy?

Ernest - I haven't measured the ride height but it appears to be normal and equal front to back and side to side. I'll check the axle shaft angles tomorrow and report back.
