Curing a rattle over bumps on the 90GT - Source of rattle turned out to be an errant bolt sitting on the Undertray.
Bolt is an M10x1.25, 50mm overall long. Hex head, Grade 8.8
I can't see any obvious missing bolts, and searching Pet and the WSM seems to suggest that the only place where this thread (M10x1.25) was used is the flywheel retaining bolts - but they are not hex head.
I'ld call it quits and deem the bolt an intruder but for the fact that it has the remains of zinc chromate (gold) plating and it seems to have the residue of antisieze which looks like the antisieze I use.
I'm stumped, anyone got any clever ideas ?

Mine backed out about 18 months ago, which overstressed the front boss of the compressor mounting bracket, snapping it and causing the compressor to droop a bit. Fortunately the tensioning bracket held everything sort of in place so the A/C belt didn't manage to wrap itself around anything.
Check your compressor bolts soon!

Good call Greg - that was it.
Thanks - I now no longer have to drive to Bathurst tommorow wondering if was something important that was missing.

Here is another mystery for all of you.
I have a set of (4) bolts and cannot find where they go. They are M10 and I think 35 long. A few more clues are that the heads have red paint marks and they are 10.9 grade. I checked my TT bolts and they are installed. Any other ideas? The entire suspension has been apart at one time or another, so there are not any clues there.

Only ones I can see that are M10x30 (shaft length is about 5mm less than overall length) in a set of 4 are the sway bar mounting bolts to the brackets on the chassis rails - but I'ld think you notice if you missed those. And they should be G8.8 not 10.9.
From memory the suspension nuts and bolts were generally red painted after factory torquing.
TT to transmission and TT to bellhousing are M10 G10.9 but 45mm long.
Any chance you replaced something and it came with new bolts ?
