Default FREE 1979 interior parts in VA

I'm stripping a 1979 no sunroof US car. The interior is rough, but some of the stuff isn't as bad as expected. I don't know if there are some rare NLA parts in there somewhere. It's a dark tan vinyl. The car's date of manufacture was 2/79.

I don't have the space to store this stuff so it's either being given away or it's going in the dumpster. Let me know if you're interested today or tomorrow.

Located in Herndon, VA. No shipping, just pickup... and FREE!

(donations of good beer and money gladly accepted to assist in race car construction)

Matt, I need a pair of A-pillars that are intact, color not important - mine are curled up at the "toe" and one is broken, and it's a real PITA 'cause it's only a few degrees out of my line of sight. Are yours intact, serviceable? Good excuse for me to take some nice back roads to NVA if so. Thanks!

I'll check this evening. I haven't taken the A-pillars out yet.

I love keeping parts from the dumpster, but I have a garage full of parts from that $50 car I got at the auction last year.

Thanks for the offer, Matt!

Did you end up cutting the roof out of the $50 car? I bought this for the non-sunroof body, early spindles (which I may not use), and the short torquetube.

The "toe" on the driver's side is lifted maybe 1/8" and the passenger side looks straight. Can somebody tell me a sure way of removing them without damaging them?

They kindof "pop" off. Helps to loosen the headliner in the top corner, then push the toward the window, "pop", the pull up.

If you have a small flatblade or slim door panel remover tool, that will help get in there and give good leverage to POP them out. Make sure you try and go straigh out if possible. They are fragile and will break.

I removed the two A-pillars, but I cracked the driver's side. Windshield glue was holding the bottom in and it cracked when I slid it out from behind the dash.

The quarter pieces are the original hard plastic type, the head liner is (obviously) non-sunroof, and the seats are manual. Maybe these are of interest to somebody for recovering.

The armrests aren't as cracked up as I expected. The door panels are in similar condition except the vinyl is puffed up and coming off.

Dash, pod, and center console aren't worth picking up. Rear seats are already in the trash.

If you can hang on to the A-pillars for a week or so (I'll have a hard date range shortly) I'll drive up and pick them up.
