Default Powder coat oven heat and brake caliper seal ?

So I FUBAR'ed the finish on my S4 calipers last Christmas trying to brush paint them with G2 epoxy paint and with some car 'downtime' coming up I'm considering re-refinishing them. I had also rebuilt all the calipers with new pistons and seals.

SO: If I have these buggers stripped of this epoxy crap, do you think 20 minutes in an oven at 400oF would destroy my new brake seals? I suspect the answer is 'yes' but am curious. I know Brendan has had calipers PC'ed but dunno if they were dissembled first.

Not worth taking a chance. Brake temps do get high, but the fluid and air cools. No fluid and air in the oven.

Rob

when guys powdercoat calipers (its pretty common on Brembo's on custom cars actually) they remove all the rubber and the pistons. Thats the correct way to do it.

I would pull yours apart when the car is without an engine, blast them and powdercoat them whatever color you like. Rebuild with new seals and boots and apply the stickers and your set.
