Default Glad to be the New Guy

Happy to be a semi-member of this illusturous group. (I wouldn't want to be a member of any club that would have me as a member. G. Marx)
Bought an 87 S4 with 101,000 miles from a Dr. near San Jose who watched it being built 22 years ago. I really liked the idea of buying from the original owner who had been there at birth.
Put a little money into the body and more money for the T-belt, water pump, belts, motor mounts, coolant reservoir,..... But hey, looking good and feeling good for now.
Really enjoy the amount of info and enthusiasm on this forum. I look forward to the exchange. Here's a couple of pics of "my new car"

Grey Guy-

Welcome! I'm digging those sport seats- I got to sit in one a few weeks back and now my regular seats are not doing it for me!

We'll have to meet up at the VCR show in Thousand Oaks some time soon, or come down to Irvine on Easter Sunday for some demolition on my car.... .

Nice car and nice seats. Congrats!

From what I can see, the outboard driver's seat bolster looks good too!

Mako. The original owner over the years bought and sold 911's and boxsters, but kept the 928. A few months ago he went back to Germany to pick up his Mercedes SL63 AMG. He told me it was finally time to sell it.

Rob. We met the last Sunday in March. I showed up for a little while, but had to run. Look forward to seeing more of your latest project.

Ed-

Duh, of course- sorry! Can I blame my memory loss on old age? no coffee? brake fluid fumes? Hmm, no, I can't....

Hello Grey Guy, and welcome aboard! Great looking car you have there, love the color!

And that terrain looks pretty familiar in the background too. I lived in Simi Valley for a year when I was a child. I have many fond memories of walking through the hills there with my dad, and along some railroad tracks.

Is the big white cross still up on the hill off of, um....(<*digging through memory banks*>....Tierra Rejada (memory of name and/or spelling suspect)?

Leslie. Yeah your memory serves you very well. I live in neighborhood that's adjacent to the park where the RR tracks wind through. Yeah the cross is still there near Tierra Rejada and a stones throw away from the Reagan library.

Love the color. Welcome to the madness. Make sure your second thread is about what kind of oil to use... Fastest way to make new friends here.
