Cheap Speed

So that spacer upgrade is good for 7-10 rwhp? How is that even possible.
X-Pipe is a definitive yes!! That will be the first piece I buy. I just want to be in the 13's consitently when all is said and done. Probably plenty of speed for a college kid with one speeding ticket.
My dad wouldn't let me get giggle juice, I just want to tap as much power before I get forced induction.

Roger has the spacers,
Get the X pipe from him as well.
Once you have done that save up and do the intake manifold refrash with new knock sensors, and hall sensor. As well if you havent already a rebuild MAF.
Once you have finished everything else drive it for awhile, do some track days. THEN save up and get a Murf kit.

Just an FYI,
Both Roger (928srus) and Carl (928 Motorsports) sell intake spacers for the S4 motors.
However there are differences.
Carls kit uses a sealent to seal the spacer to the intake manifold.
Rogers kit uses factory seals (o-ring) to seal.
The 928srus kit will be an easier install and far less problematic to get a perfect seal from.

Congrats Catfood. If I were you, I'd enjoy the car and get used to it now, as it is. It's the most powerful car you've ever owned, and you haven't tapped its potential. Get to know it. Drive it by shifing gears manually for a while, get used to it. Get to know the car in all circumstances and driving conditions. Take autocrosses and track days. Let's go on a tour.

I dont know if I am buying into the intake spacer thing. It only looks good in the higher RPM band. I want a good 0-60 time, and I think this spacer will have an affect. The X-pipe will be first to go on though.

Look at the thread on weight saving; cheapest way to get extra performance.

It's truly boring, but the first $1000 is best spent replacing all the wear items. Rebuilt MAF (top of the list), new injectors, crank sensor, cam hall sensor, knock sensors, intake gaskets, fuel hoses, spark plugs. Of course, buy a 32V'r from Roger (baby Jesus cries if you borrow one), and verify your cam timing!
After that, an X-pipe gives you the biggest single jump. 24# injectors with a fuel and ignition SharkTune gives you another good bump. From there, the HP:$ exchange ratio just gets worse, and worse.

Spend $1000 and build your own supercharger setup! Click on the link in my signature to get an idea what it takes and feel free to ask away. It really is nto that difficult to do. Just copy what I did.

Good luck on that 380HP thing! I don't see that happening even with FULL ON TUNE and everything working right on an S4... Of course you are correct about HP and death! The stock S4 has PLENTY of HP to kill you if you are not VERY, VERY careful! If I had an S4 in college I would not be here today to talk about it...FOR SURE!

I call it wishful thinking. I will probably only be able to buy an x-pipe by the end of summer. I want to auto-x it so I will have lots of stuff that will be sucking my money. If I like the auto Ill keep the thing and it will be at 450+ hp by next year.
