Hello all,
Been away from the board for a bit pusuing other interests
Though I've been lurking lately and it feels good to be back in the 928 mode.

Summer is around the corner and want to take the GTS in for some routine maintenance. As I recall, the choice 928 wrenches were at Randolph Racing, Autobahn Performance in Peabody and KTR in Stow. Is this still the case?
If so, is there a particular person at these facilities that I should ask for?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and feel free to PM me if you will be more comfortable being candid.

On another note I am joining the Rennlist once again and can post pics thereafter.

Regards,
Gary

Gary you need to join us this spring, lots of shark owners in the S.Shore and Cape area.

I'm checking to see if my wrench is accepting any more cars, I'll PM you if he is. Can't say enough about him and honestly I doubt I would own a shark if he wasn't around to keep it running like a top!

Hi Afshin,
Thanks so much. I'd really appreciate it.

I've looked over your car from afar and have to say I have been quite impressed by its appearance and your meticulous care. It stands to reason that you would not allow just anyone to work on it.

My car is also in excellent condition and I too take great care in its appearance.
I need to get some of the more common items taken care of such as TB/tensioner, clutch work, etc... and hopefully develop a long term relationship with someone I can trust to care for the car as if it were their own

I would love to get more involved in the scene and would welcome the opportunity to join the group at local GTG's.

If your mechanic is unable to accomadate another car feel free to recommend anyone else you may know of through your contacts.

Regards
Gary

This is very useful info. Any recommendations for my post-purchase inspection? Who would be the best person in MA for that, preferrably within an hour drive from Boston.

Gary,
David Chamberland (worf928 on Rennlist) does a lot of 928 work "privately" in the MA area. He has a beautfiul GTS, a GT, and maybe one or two other 928's personally. Might want to contact him.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

You are the second person to recommend Dave and I may very well give him a call given his reviews and his obvious love for the car.

When I purchased the car in 2005 it was spotless and extremely well sorted. I've only put 1400miles on it since that time and have meticulously cared for it and am now at the point where I want to "re-sort it" despite the relatively low miles. As such, it is imperative to me that only a technically competent person who loves the marque gets to work on it. Sounds like Dave may be one of those people.

Thanks again to everyone,

Regards,
Gary

Hi Gary,

Welcome back to the list. Hope to see you at one of the SE MA/Cape gatherings this summer. Let us know when you have the 928 on the Cape, maybe we can schedule something on short notice..

Dave C.
I have your telephone number and I'll be in touch.

Dave K,
Nice to hear from you. I'm down on the Cape on and off all summer and always their first two weeks of August. Love to catch up while I'm there and will try and make any other GTG's in meantime.

Regards,
Gary L.

Gary it sounds like you're as **** as I am about your 928 and I can say without a doubt that Dave will take care of it. Just make sure you follow his advice when it comes to getting the car and parts ready and he'll take care of the rest.

My car will be in Dave's hands later this month getting new motor mounts, pan gasket, power steering hoses and fresh fluids. It should be fully sorted (except for new shocks) when he's done. Shocks are next year!

Hi Gary. We have all been dying to see your car since you bought it, and I hope you come out to some of the get togethers soon.
Dave C has been my wrench since '04 and he is the best at what he does. I do what I can, the simpler things, and he takes it from there to 100%. Without Dave, it would be a different 928 world for me for sure.
We have a group of 5 speed 928 owners in our area and we get together frequently. See you around.
