I want to buy whatever will be best for my pending Mega Squirt conversion. Hopeing I can use them with my stock ECU as well. Not sure what effect high vs low impedence injectors has. I'm an audio guy so I understand the difference but? How do injectors react to the difference?

I'm looking for injectors that will work well with my pending MS conversion and possible boosted app later. I was hoping to find injectors that will work with my stock ECU plus my future plans. I know MS will work with either but, what is the real difference here?

Sorry for the double post. By the way... That is the fuel rail I'm hunting. Thanks a ton

Vdubr,
I think what you want is the '85-86.5 fuel rail. I can't really tell from the pictures, but it appears that the Motorsports replacement fuel rails use the original injectors which is not gonna do you any good (you might check with them directly). You really don't want to run out of fuel if you boost your engine.

Low impedence vs. high impedence: If you use the wrong injectors for your injector brain, you could burn up your brain.

You should be able to use #19 OR #24 lb injectors with your stock injector computer brain without sharktuning. I believe that most boosted cars use either #30 or #42 injectors which would require sharktuning to make it idle and to achieve the maximum benefit.

Just my $.02

Hmm.

The motorsports rail are to upgrade to pintle injectors and lose the rubber hoses.

Which is better, Low or high impedence?

I was going to get 24lb

I'm trying to decide if I can do the rails and injectors before I do the Mega Squirt then keep the same injectors. Let me rephrase that. I know I can do this but is low or high better and which one works with my ECU?

High imp are better for MS, but I dont think they will work with the L-jet.

Thanks lizard, I actually have been reading your MS bible and really appriciate the time you took to write it up. And to think I was considering spending $3000 on a system that I can now do myself for a fraction of that cost. I quess I will hold off on the injectors till I get my ms box built and have the other parts reasy to go. Would you say that Hi-impedence is also best for boosted apps? If I'm planning on maxing at 6-8lbs of boost can I get away with 24lb injectors untill I build my stroker block? This is going on a bone stock 4.5 us with 90K on it.
