Default tire installer recommendations North New Jersey Please?

Just purchased from tire rack; anyone know a good choice in north New Jersey? Also, current rims have the press on weights; does anyone use stick on ones, or are those a bad choice?

Don,

Let me know if you find someone. I'll do the same if I find someone down here that I trust. I'm getting a set of rims painted and I don't want them scratched.

Sorry no help.

I used these guys before and happy with their work. They do lots of high end cars.

Thanks for the recommendation JThwan, I'll be going there. Fairfield is a bit far, but I'd rather use someone who knows what they're doing than roll the dice with newly painted rims...

Not sure I'd ever go back to them. When I had a Datsun Z, I just wanted a balance done, and they told me they only work on "European" cars. WTF?? Wheels are wheels, tires are tires, and weights are weights. I wound up going to a little shop in Union City, but it's not there anymore. I'd rather go to someone who needs the business.
Surely there's someone on here that knows of another wheel/tire dealer up in this neck of the woods. Otherwise I'm going to try one of the guys Tire rack has on their list.

That is kind of snobby of them. I only took VW, Audi, Porsche to them maybe that is why I never ran into problem. The waiting room is kind of nice.

+1 on Eurotire..

I have not actually been there but I always hear good things. If my memory serves, it's two brothers that run the place, and at least one of them actually knows what 928's are and how to deal with them.

I just did my steering rack and will take it there for an alignment. I'll let you know how that goes as well.

For just tires, I always use STS tires on the Somerville circle.. Never had a complaint about their work and have yet to scratch a rim.

I guess it is kind of snobby of them. I wonder if they'll ask me what kind of car my wheels are for? I'll be bringing them in a Ford minivan..

Nice waiting room, that's cool.

Have you ever brought them painted rims? I know the generic tire machines actually have a part that slides along the lip to fit the tire on. I'm afraid that will damage the new paint on my tires.

They usually put loose wheel and tire in a plastic bag so it won't dirty up your "high end euro" car

Chris and Bill are nice people. Eurotire used to be the Tire rack of the 70-80's. Chris is the man who knows alignments and IIRC is a member of Perelli's F1 tire time.

There is also Stable energies who has a state of the art mounting machine and you can also use local shops like Protosport in Pompton Plains. Any of them should do a good job for you
