The "good fixes" are probably the way to go, but I'm dealing with the heater core connections. Not much room to work, and I'd probably do more harm than good trying to solder something in that space. Too bad it's such a pain to replace the heater core altogether. I have several others that are fine. I'll just clean it up good and probably use a little bit of form a gasket.

It's actually worse than I first thought. Holes all the way through as you can see from the light shining through. I'm thinking a small amount of JBWeld and dremel now.

Blackshark--

That looks pretty ugly. What has you believing that the only perforations are where the hoses connect? Or that there are no other weak spots ready to pop? Go ahead and do your thing, then attach the hoses and fill it with water. Pressure test it at 17PSI (just above the pop-off pressure of the reservoir cap...) and see if it holds. There's always that small chance that it might.

Replacing the heater core means pulling the dash. That's not really so much work as it is getting everything electrical hooked up and working again when you reassemble. It's spring so who needs heat anyway. Or wait until it gets good and hot so working on it will be more fun. Or have SeanR do it. He knows what's involved and my guess is that Angela could use the money.

Many of those hoses have already been done but thanks for pointing out all the WYAI's that go along with the heater hoses. I actually ended up removing the intake and cleaning that and the the valley as well as replacing the four mounting bolts for the lower plenum today. I still need to put a couple more things back on but hopefully it runs and all is well in the morning. This whole ordeal started because I wanted to put one of the 928 Motorsports oil separator baffles on and make sure that all of that stuff was sealed up before tackling the cam seals and timing belt in a couple of weeks.
