Passenger Side Water Leak
I was driving some rain the last couple days and noticed some water collecting above the passenger side shelf below the glove box and dripping down onto it. I have searched the Rennlist but found mostly driver side water leaks. Does anyone have any ideas on the passenger side?
Thanks

That's going to be really bad news for your fusebox. IIRC the likely culprits, more or less in order of likelihood, are: Sunroof, Pass. Door, or base of windshield.

It's pretty easy to check the sunroof. Get about 6 feet of the plastic weed-trimmer line and fish it down into the drain holes that are at the front corners of the sunroof. It should clear out any debris.
Take a cup of water and pour it into the hole to make sure it's draining properly. Look under the car for the water exiting. If the sunroof drain is working properly, move on to the next possible culprits (door, base of windshield) like Dave said.

Clean out the drain under the heater blower....it is covered by a rubbe flap on the engine side of the firewall in front of the passenger area. You can access the flap from under the car, crawl behind the front passenger wheel and look up the firewall for the flap. Just reach up, open it, and pull out all the leaves and gunk that has collected there. That should fix your problem.

Byrdman,
I had a similar problem. Above the fuse panel is a flap which allows cabin air to recirculate back thru the heater core. That flap assembly is bolted in and sealed with some really sticky black tar-like stuff. If anyone has ever replaced the vacuum actuator for this flap, they had to disturb the flap assembly and tar-like substance. If they didn't bolt the assembly up properly OR they damaged the tar, you will have a leak above the glove box that pools just in front of the fuse box.
Remove the glove box to get a good look at the flap. Pour some water down the windshield over the blower motor area. You will be able to locate the leak. Now tighten the flap assembly up and use some silicon if needed.
You may have a drain that requires unplugging as mentioned earlier. The leak is from the windshield area not the sunroof. The drain that is plugged not the sunroof drain.
You do want to fix this one, since it's so close to the electrical area.

All the water which drains down off the windshield collects in the large cavity between the firewall and the dash bulkhead . The ONLY drain is the rubber flapper previously mentioned . Right side on the engine about 1/2 way up the firewall below the coolant reservoir . When debris built up they block the drain and the water level rises until it runs into the heater blower housing and drains down on the fuse relay panel ........ Everyone should clean out the drain by removing the thin black plastic cover and digging out the junk above the drain .

I checked my black drain flapper last night. I got at it from the top side by removing my air filter, so you don't necessary have to get under the car. Found some leaves and other debris.

Thanks Chris. Still don't see them. Mine are clogged and I'd like to go after them from the bottom. Anyone have a picture?
