I caught ya the first time and understood that it could likely be done without special tools. As in, our grandmum's would tell us that we 'ought to use the tools' but we'd probably ignore them.

You probably could paint the wheels w/o removing them, but you could not chrome or powdercoat them w/o removal.

If you want to use the "nuts" that hold the sensor in place again you better use the tool. You will FOR SURE need some gaskets. 8 nuts, 8 gaskets, two tools...$300+ before you even started. I have the tools, but used the gaskets and the new "nuts" when I refinished my '92 wheels.

As noted I am a buyer at a good price. I don't consider $1500 a good price, so no buyer I guess. Still like to have them... Oh well. I'll wait...

I sold a set off my GTS a while back with brand new PS2's for $1000. Kinda wish I had kept them now.

Maybe I'm a discount shopper but I just paid $350 for these wheels off Denver craigslist. They were posted for 30 minutes when I called and said I would pick them up no questions asked. I don't know if the sensors work yet but at that price who cares. Keep looking around it is a buyers market you would be suprised at some of the deals "steals" out there.

jpNcos,
You are correct. I'll keep looking. I am in no rush. I have an extra set of 17" wheels I can put on the '92 and send the Cup I's out for a refinish anyway (I already have all the tools to remove the sensors and put them back) so no biggie. Just figured if there were a nice pair at a decent price then I could run those for when I want the car at its best (it needs some body paint to be AT ITS BEST really anyway) then fine, but I am not going to pay top dollar for a set. Someone might, but it won't be me.

Good to hear confirmation of some super deals out there too!

Best,
