OB Speed Sensor Connection Visual
I'm looking for a pic of from someone's spare tire area of what the speed sensor should like and what connections are suppose to be there.
My PO did some sort of hack job back there and I'm trying to figure out what is missing!!
Thanks!

Here's a pic of the sensor -- it has the twisted wire with the dark jacket all the way up into the spare tire well.
Pic isn't showing at the moment -- member webs are acting up. It's on my "Round 30 - Drivetrain - Disassembly" page.

Dave, thanks for the pic but I should been more clear in the sense that do you have a pic or even description of the actual connector in the spare tire well? Is it a 4,5,6 pole connector? Is it only two wires for the speed sensor and two (blue, brown) for the reverse switch? Anything else?

Sorry, I don't... does this help?
The electrical manual says it's a 7 pole connector but yet his and mine are a 6 pole with two "spare" openings on the one. From my understanding, the 4 pole is suppose to be for the automatics, again, according the manual.
I guess I was making sure nothing related to the odometer was back here either...
It's also a VW plug part# as is mine!!

The odo is driven thru that connector - same pulses as the speedometer...
If the speedometer works and the odometer doesn't, the problem is usually the fragile little plastic gear that drives the odo.
