Damn I WISH! If I had she would have been posed with a load of 928's man! Not that American Iron CRAP!! What a waste of an awesome body to put it with that stuff...

I am talking to a friend trying to get a few shots sort of like that...she is not willing to go as far as this girl did (she is probably 15 years old...and thinks it shows, but I beg to differ), but she would look every bit as good as this girl and will post pics when/if I can talk her into a shoot! I already have the cars and I think she has a really good camera, and I have seen some really nice outfits on her, so now we just need the time! She looked good tonight at a concert, I'll tell you that...

That's news to me. Care to share the "white-paper" with that info?

Rear-Engine Vehicles
In rear-engine vehicles, the motor is located in the rearmost portion, behind the rear axle line. Essentially, the engine is located in the trunk. Also a rare configuration, rear-engine automobiles tend to demonstrate exceptional braking ability due to a greater amount of weight from the engine remaining over the rear tires during braking. Thus, all four tires are heavily involved during braking instead of just the front tires. Acceleration is also enhanced, as the rearward transfer of weight and the engine weight combine to put maximum downward force on the rear tires (the tires responsible for acceleration in this configuration) resulting in a larger rear tire contact patch that enhances accelerative traction (Bentley, 1998).

this is true rear engine cars have better braking because of the weight transfer. this is one reason why in FSAE we build rear engine race cars. when one of the judges was giving a presentation he was comparing our car in basic design of handling and braking to 911s. I do not believe that they make 911 ( a bad design as one said ) just because people buy them. That is not true, having a rear engine does have its benefits in handling and braking.

James,
I'm stuck on the photo. This is my favorite RL post of all time. DO THE PHOTO SHOOT! I wonder if the post would get moved right away to some dark vault.

I have only had three and two of them are considered the poor mans Porsche, they are a 79 924 Euro, 87 na 944 and lastly the 928. For me the most fun to drive has been and still is the 944na, this might have something to do that it is a stick and not an auto like my 928 or that it takes to a corner like it's on rails. Two years ago my plans were to sell it and buy a 928 after two years of 928 ownership I still cant give up my little old 944.

My preferance is the 928 for a few reasons.
One I really do not understand why people are still getting such a high dollar for old 911's that are in horrid shape. Simply over priced for what you get.
Not only that if anyone thinks the 928 is hard to work on try working on a 964. I also like the 928 as there are few who have modified them.

And others have said the driving position is horrid

Ya got me on that one. I wonder with the transaxle over the rears on the 928, if that negates the articles assumptions of front mounts, at least with the 928.

This morning, I drove a 964 for 30 minutes on the highway, while my 928 was next to me or in front of me....I couldn't believe how much more exciting/safe/predictable etc it was to stop the 928 right after stopping the 964. I think my 86.5 928 would outbrake the 91 964....but tests may prove otherwise.

If you think a race car sounds like a sewing maching, you need to attend more races.

IT SURE FELT LIKE 90 IN 1ST! MIGHT AS WELL HAVE SAID 100MPH....It was by far the most violent explosive type feeling, that I've never stopped lusting for one.....It's so hard to say how you like the 928 compared to other models. The 930-It just remains at the top of my list, as greatest drivers cars ever. 928 is so solid and just different. They're both great- that's why I want both. I think 928 is so reliable and robust, and solid...what a great car! I use my vehicle very well, and 928 always impresses me. I punish it- it likes it. I'm nice to it, it likes it. The look on the highway today, of the 928 as I rolled next to it, is so striking. Dare I say, one of the greatest car designs EVER. Strange how sometimes I look at it and think it's a weird design.... but the execution of the lines obscures the goofy hatch and odd side shot. And I guess it depends on what brand sewing machine (who said sewing machine anyway?). How do they make 8,000,000 shoes a minute in China? I bet that's a loud hefty sewing machine LOL> I can see 10,000 man sized mousewheels powering it....And we wonder what's wrong with our economy. To clarify my comment about the sound, it's just unique, VERY unique, to say the least.... I'm sure many agree. And finally, how the heck did you make time to write 34,000 posts!? Maybe I need to wipe my eyes.
