120 pounds? That's big for a german shepherd, by the longer hair I'm guessing a king shepherd or Shiloh?

I have a Shiloh and he's right at 130 pounds now.

He's pure German, not American. His grandfather is the famous German Shepherd EDDY vom ELSENZER SEE , 17 time German Schutzhund III, KKL 1A for life, Champion stud.

You can do a search for "EDDY vom ELSENZER SEE" on Google and see a lot of Thor's family.

BUT, never tell him about any of this as he will get a big head. To us he is just my best buddy and our family member.

We didn't know until we were halfway home with him and Jeannie started screaming "you're not gonna believe this".. he was born on my birthday. In a week or so he turns 5 and I turn (gulp) 50.

BTW, Jeannie and I love Shilohs, we were loooking for one when we stumbled across Thor. His Dad had long hair like a Shiloh which originally attracted us to him.

Thor is a beautiful dog! We were looking at East German Shepherds with "Plush" coat when we stumbled across Shiloh's. Here's my Shiloh "Wolfgang von Draco". We just call him Draco. Too bad Shiloh's are not recognized by AKC yet, even though all other kennel clubs do. They keep German Shepherd papers for AKC even though they have Wolf and Great Perinese blood in them (Along with large East German Shepherds).

Too funny! Rejex...Amsoil... C'mon folks, the best way to go downhill on a sled is bare aluminum. Time to get out the grinder and get that paint off of there.

FWIW, we used to use aluminum restaurant server trays. They were rocket sleds!

Default I LOVE IT!

Dave, Jeannie & Thor-

'Awesome ride!' Where's the You Tube link?

That would be a big hit here in Anchorage with all the pre-amble to the Iditarod start (over a week of festivities!)...
Outhouse Races; Run with the Deer; a street race 'Grand Prix'; and a multitude of 'rescue dog rides', etc!...

We need a thread for this year's SITM - it's only THREE MONTHS AWAY, GANG!!

Swift Sledding!

Wow, Draco is a beautiful dog too!! There is 150+lb Shiloh that we see at a campground we frequent, man he is BIG and makes Thor look small! Of course the long hair on that Shiloh makes him look bigger than he is.

I have always thought the AKC "snub" to Shilohs was BS. They recognize some weird a$$ crap and leave out some of the real dogs.

I do like the RN "Wolfgang von Draco", Thor's is "Thor von Haus Roberts" best we could come up with at the time.

It is cool to see we have something else in common.

Hi Kim,

Didn't do the video thing, will definitely do it next time.

That's very cool(no pun intended) that you are at the Iditarod, I'm jealous.

With a SharkSled and a pack of Thors I would blow everyone's parkas off, yeah right :-)

Look forward to seeing you again at SITM. It is getting scary close to that time of year. My favorite time but also the most nerve racking!!

Now that you made me realize how close it is.... I NEED A VALIUM!!

See ya soon... oh and go easy on the wheels and tires

Brian,

I keep forgeting at ask, I love that shot in your avitar and would like to have a higher rez version for my collection. There is something about that pic that strikes me, that crisp white 928 just pops.

It's probably the stance. The front is dipping just enough to offset the shallower rear fender openings almost lining the rear and fronts up perfectly. Also the 3/4 shot is at the best angle for the 928.
