Default No.....

Don't photograph it outside the air might touch it! Seriously, besides the uniqueness factor, would you take a GTS over a comparably priced new Porsche, dollar for dollar? Say a well equipped 4S, 385hp, 3,200lb, PDK, and DFI? I guess the taxes would be lower on the GTS. Which one would do better on the Ring and by how much? The GTS turns heads, but could a 15 year old car even compare? I bet it would not be as big an advantage to the 997 as should be expected for 15 years of development. How much has Porsche really advanced, net net, given the fact that they stayed with the rear engine platform over mid engine or front engined layouts despite the disadvantages? IMHO the 928 is much closer to the winning and simple idea that has made the Corvette so successful; light weight frame and body, big torque V8, and rear transaxle for balance. It still works and every year the vette kicks a$$ with simple development changes.

Personally, I would take the GTS and if I could get over the guilt of driving the lowest mileage car in the US, I would drive the H*LL out of it and love every minute of it. I have heard that the new 997 is a great car, and light years ahead of even the 996, but they are so common, and the GTS is no slouch when put to the timer.

I'd take the 997 for that money FOR SURE! Even better, I would buy a very nice 996TT AND a nice Boxster!

Too bad it doesn't have a Rogerbox...

But I already have one that I want to buy when I win the lottery (see my signature)

That is because you already have way too many 928s. I just don't see a boxter fitting into your stable

The TT would be a good move.

Interesting, and it's not even a leather dash! Way too much for that car, I don't care what the mileage is. Maybe James would sell me the Blue 82 for that? I'd rather have that one, frankly (or Kermit - I'll bet Chuck would be tempted in that range too).

What is this, day trading 928's? Isn't this the 3rd "for sale" from a different owner since October?

Pretty soon you'll have to extend your tiny garage...

yup

its weird, in the other thread i mentioned this, but its always somewhat unfortunate that these low low mile cars that show up are usually somewhat uninterestingly spec'ed. For instance, this car has no real options so far as i can tell, its really pretty standard, no 12 way seats, no extra leather, it is a pretty good color combo but nothing really unique.

I think its odd, cars of this description (mileage) seem to usually be somewhat ordinary in specification......

I have to again say, WTF do you do with it.... surely you cant drive it anywhere. But then i need to remind myself that the guy buying this would likely just put in in another storage garage, have some guy employeed by him to take it out every couple weeks and wash it, and then just return it to its designated parking stall..... pretty boring life for that car..... oh well.

I honestly don't think it's fair to compare values. 928's are special. They're a bargain, at any price...

Nick - NE PA - 89 S4 - 3X into it versus what it's worth and you can't wipe the smile off my face, even today, as I discover that the rust spray that came out of my headlamp washers last week now has clogged the jets, I suppose... Who cares? STILL, nothing like it... Couldn't be happier...

LOL

I think we've all discovered that those washers are a great way to make your car filthy at any speed.

Sorry, for that money I'd put $15k into my car making it just as nice and even faster. Then I'd pick up a Ferrari 348GTS and a Bentley Turbo R, or maybe a truck, trailer and an IT car. Very nice car, but no interest at all.
