Default Any interest in a 82 Euro S W/some upgrades?

So, before someone jumps on me for not putting up a price or all the details, let me just say that I've not decided to sell yet. I don't even know if I'm seriously considering it yet. The car needs some work, but I friggin love it, and it's kinda the only thing I have to show from my year in Iraq. And the S/O is adamantly against me selling... But, I don't like where things are going with the economy, and I don't want to be sitting unable to afford to drive it a year from now and scrounging for grocery money...

Anycase. The car is an 82 chiffon white euro S, 5 speed, no rubstrips, no sunroof, LSD with S4 suspension and brakes. Body and paint are good, not perfect. Interior is good, not perfect.

The car was never federalized, so it's got all the nifty euro stuff like the dash is in german.

Has cup rims on it with good rubber.

It is due for a TB/WP, and it is in need of a headgasket job. The headgasket leaks to the outside, but was never an issue under normal driving, though I haven't driven it enough last summer to know if it's gotten worse or not.

Gretch can verify that its a real nice car... It lives in his barn during the winter.

Like I said, I'm not sure I'm selling it... Actually kinda hoping ya'll will talk me out of it. Just "checking the market" so to speak.

Car is in NH. Feel free to PM me with any Q's.

If you are serious about selling it, don't do it here. Rennlist will tear it apart and only tell you how worthless it is. Sell it to a civilian.

Fabio, thanks man.

I guess I'm just trying to see where things are at with these cars... They tend to be a bit of a middle class toy, and the middle class is getting the crap beat out of it right now.

Has the shark forum really gotten that harsh lately? I bought the car from a guy here, and the whole thing was fantastic (Paul D, you still here?)

It's got a lot going for it, but really hard to say w/o more details.

How many miles?

What color interior?

Do you have the fedralization paperwork ie EPE & NHTSC signoffs?

Pics?

there's about 120k on the clock I think... I'll have to double check that the next time I'm up there... I'm gotta convert from Km. lol. brown leather interior... no federalization paperwork as it was never federalized.

I do have the original german sales receipt.

the more I think about it, the less I feel like selling it. it's going to cost about 1500 for the tb/wp/hg job I am going to do in the spring, but I love that friggin car.

In this market it will be difficult to get top dollar. We are seeing S-4's going for half of what they were going for a year ago. It may be cheaper to keep her. Only you can decide.

Hey Tim - I sold it to you in '06 with approx 127K mi on the odo. I think I attached a picture of the interior. If you cought me before my 401K fund turned into a 201K fund, I'd seriously consider bringing her home. You should probably hold onto it.
