The Boomerang Box..!
I have to admit that I am more than a little envious at Mr. Roger Tyson...
Having such a vital part of most 928s named after him..!
What can I do to qualify to have the manual boxes named after me..?
I have after all had many sharks with manual transmissions over the years.
Currently I have a GTS manual, a GT, a S4 racer, plus an old 928 racer with a GT tranny in it.
Please advice...

Red face Green monster-

Not to be too perverse about this but from the Oxford dictionary:

verb Brit. vulgar slang (of a man) have sexual intercourse with.

**— ORIGIN from the given name Roger; the verb is from an obsolete sense (*****) of the noun.

my slushbox equipped w/a good tc, shift kit and with the kickdown bypass works like a manual w/out missing gears.

only thing better would be paddle shifters, or a 6 speed PDK system. hmmmm....

I should mention it was only one of the Chapparals and he didn't run it for long, but it was long enough that the other guys on the track noticed he was keeping both hands on the wheel and wondered what the hell he had done.

He was shifting with something else.

Automatics are for people who are too lazy to shift manually and use a clutch

Can someone explain the 2 3 2 AT shifting method. Why and when to use it?

Speaking from Tysons Corner (not the one in VA!)

Hmmpff

The 928 with Rogerbox is vastly superior as it can easily be driven with hand controls!

This is vital to 928 ownership for some of us.

Don't make me give you a whoopin!

yep... and don't forget the torque multiplication.

but don't tell any top fueler, indy car, 997 w/pdk or modern sports car owner that is paddle shifter equipped that they must be handicapped.. hahaha

iirc, some modern farm equipment still have clutches and manual boxes

Use it if you like to determine when to shift into the next or lower gear, e.g. shift like a manual.

How to use:

Stand still, put lever in 2, this is 1st gear. Accelerate, put lever in 3, 2nd gear engages, then put the lever back into 2. This way the car stays in 2nd gear until you come to a stop, in which case it is in 1st gear again. If you don't put the lever back into 2, the car will eventually shift into 3rd gear. Accelerate, put lever into 3, car shifts into 3rd gear. Put lever in D the car shift into 4th gear.

Slowing down is the reverse sequence. Don't shift back at high speeds, unlike a manual you can't depress the clutch when the revs get too high. You can however shift forward on high revs.

Your quote: I really liked my '87 S4 auto, once I installed the "Sport Shifter" from 928 Motor sports, before then, it was no fun to manually shift, the awkward thumb button and T handle were just bad. No rev limiter on the auto, YEEHAW!!

Were do you get one of theses i could not find it on 928motorsports site, and what does it improve ?
