you must have a stroked 928 engine to participate.

no BS, just the facts ma'am.
how many liters/cubic inches?
32V or 16V?
turbo-ed, supercharged, or naturally aspirated?
which piston/cylinder combination are you using? (Porsche or custom pistons, over-bored w/ Nikasil, sleeved, etc)
which rods are you using? (steel, titanium, SBC based or custom, etc)
how is the car driven? (track only, hard street driving, or just putting around)
how many miles do you have on this engine since installation?
maximum rpm's you turn this engine?
have you had any rod failures? ( broken, bent, etc)
have you had any excessive piston/cylinder wear? (skirt wear, where is it, etc)
have you had any piston/cylinder failures? (broken pistons, gouged cylinders, etc)
please answer this survey to the best of your ability. I realize that you may not be able to answer all questions if you engine has not been through a tear down since being built, and that's OK. If so, just list it as currently running with (hopefully) no issues. if you are on a second, third, or more build, just let us know what the issues were with the previous engines as they relate to the survey.
I am not interested in hp/torque numbers, intake/exhaust, headwork, or how much/little you spent on your build. I am more concerned with short block reliability issues.
I would like to put this data on a spread sheet and see just where we in the 928 community are with reliability with the various 928 stroker builds that are currently in place.

now that you've started this crap over again, both here and on Pelican Parts, I can only say it's too bad.
2 weeks go by and you just could not leave well enough alone.
I didn't need your smartass comments and neither did anyone else.
this thread was to gather data that some of us could really use, not your attempt at comedy.

I don't have my stroker running yet, the long block is done and sitting on the engine stand.
So I can't report on any short block reliability issues at this point, but thanks for starting this
thread it will prove to be a very reliable resource for everyone. I think if this type of info was
available 10 yrs ago there would be twice as many strokers already on the road. Keep the info coming !!

I agree. The 928 modification stuff is light years behind anything on the domestic side, so it will be good info for those who are pursuing this with their own cars.
I hope to build the data to show how the engines are put together (what components), where the costs are, and where the reliabilities are (or lack of them).
I'm shooting for just over 500 cubic inches with mine (8.4 liters). The numbers are actually there to do it. My block is due to go the machine shop in April (he's backed up until then), and I will pull the trigger on a crank order at about the same time. Pistons are easily ordered, and I have one set of rods to work with unless something in the data suggests otherwise.....Yeah, it will make gobs of torque, but I hate revving a motor to the moon trying to make the car go fast.......

I don't think theres any way to do that within the confines of the stock 928 block, even if you sleeve the cylinders to make them work at crazy-thin dimensions.

4.8125 bore centers, siamesed sleeves, .150 liner walls, 4 inch stroke would yield about 511 cubic inches (8.37L).

Since the 928 block has the same bore spacing as a 502 Chevy:
502 Chevy has a bore / stroke of 4.470" x 4" with a 6.135" rod
90 S-4's motor is 4.286 x 3.701"
IIRC the 928 block cannot support the 502 stroke. Assuming that is maxed out on the 7 liter, a bore of 4.635 would be needed to make a 500 cubic inch, 8.19 liter 928 motor with a 3.701" stroke.
Looking at the photos of the 427, there could be enough room for an additional .349" in the bore.
