Default Nice Original 1984 928S for sale in DFW

Ran into the owner of a beutiful and original 1984S yesterday.
Car was a "tourist" ordered car and picked up from Stuttgart.
Original owner was a TWA pilot. He died and ownership was passed to his wife.
Current True milage 67K
Current owner bought the car from the Pilots family and has known the family for over 30 years.
Lots of history with the car including a handwritten log from day one.
Car is a 9.8 out of 10 and would take very little to make it concours.
Original sticker and all books. Full set of 9 volume manuals and fender covers.
Quartz Grey Metallic with partial brown leather interior.
No wear on the seats at all - like new. Dash and pod are perfect.
Slight lift of the leather on the corner of the rear console.
All service up todate including recent TB & WP, new alternator, brakes and battery. Stored in a heated garage.

No affiliation on my part just wanted to let the community know the car is available. If anyone is interested I can put them in touch with the owner.
Serious Offers circa $15k

Jim,
Sorry I just assume that everyone knows its an automatic - not one of those bastardised 5 speeds.

So that's how you get all those cars. You run the owners down?

damn Roger - why are you posting these temptations! As I continue to tear into that crazy plumbing on my 86 to try and get it started, I have visions of the simple but elegant spider dancing in my head! My first shark was an 84, and I loved it!

My first was also an 84 and boy do I miss that car. I wish I knew where it ended up (sold it back in October of 2002). The guy who bought it was from Australia but living in Austin at the time. I have searched for it on the 928 registry on occasion but it has never turned up. It only had 57k on it when I bought it from my father, and I sold it with about 61k.

Gosh Mike, I thought you drove that car (the '84) the way you always talked about it, but looking at the lack of miles you put on it, apparently you just looked at it. ( that is, unless, you only owned it for a few weeks) just kidding you of course. Everybody should have at least one '84 sometime.

Jim,
You need to come and work for 928sRus - can you imagine the banter in the office every day - what fun we would have.
I know we could never afford you and please never tell Mark I mentioned it. Roger

from these comments it sounds like I did good deciding to focus on an 83/84, and finding a nice 84 auto for a daily driver. ;-D

You pretty much nailed it. You wanna talk about noob. I knew NOTHING about these cars. The deal was just too good to pass up (5K, and I sold it for 10k). I was so afraid to break the damn thing that I just stared at it alot. I lived less than four miles from my office, and had like 4 or 5 cars at the time. And I lived in Waco which I could criss cross in 25 minutes. I have put more miles going to sharks in the mountains twice than I put on that car. What a shame. Here is a link to some pictures of it. One of my early posts.

Sorry for the small Hi-jack Rog.

That was a beautiful car, Mike. What color is that? So sorry for the hi-jack, Roger.
Mike, maybe you could post on the land shark site and someone might recognize it?
