Yes, I had a local industrial coatings company ceramic coat them. Black was not my first choice but thats what they were running that day and it was a good deal.

Thanks Gretch.....I prolly invest a little to much effort in the "purdy" aspect of it but its on a stand outside my office door so I find myself investing a zillion hours in 10-15 minute increments.

Am I the only one who uses header wrap?

Great looking engine!

Header wrap will ruin a set of headers. Especially in a boosted application. Ceramic is a better option IMHO.

Nice looking engine Tass. Why "testarossa"? I know rossa means red but what does testa mean?

Testarossa = Red Head

Technically the cam housings are red, not the head. Ferrari did the same thing, the 80's Testarossa had red cam covers.

I've seen original 50's vintage Testarossas with and without red heads under the hood.

Dave, looks great. I plan to do my valve covers in red textured paint.

Looks really sharp, there, Tass. You really have it outside your office on a stand?? LOL...that's great! I should have gotten Kevin to do his engine work in the living room, maybe...huh?

Over the years my crew has become accustomed to me having at least one of my projects here at work at all times. Right now it's just this engine and one vintage snowmobile. There have been times when I really pushed their tolerance level and had a couple of whole cars out there on the floor. We are not in an auto related business this so stuff really looks out of place in the middle of a manufacturing floor. Still, the living room?.....I would rather face the wrath of my employees than that of my wife

Every Ferrari that I have supercharged has had red heads and cam covers and usually manifold too. We make SC kits for the Mondial, 308, and 328.

"Testa Rosa" translates to "Red Head"
