Hey Joey,

I've been very well, thank you. Very busy as usual. Been following your "on again, off again" love affair with the 928

So is the most cost effective solution to buy beat up 911/944 seats, and have them converted to sport seats with new foam/covers?

Someone should do a scratch-n-sniff test to see what it might be.

Along this same vein, for those of us less concerned with originality, and without enough money to buy race seats, I wonder what kind of good seat swaps there are for our car. There's bound to be a nice pair of leather buckets from some car out there in the world that will fit in to our cars, look good, be comfy and hopefully be a good deal while doing it.

Anyone have any ideas for those of us who love pulling stuff out of salvage yards?

Hey Brian,

it's different for everyone. But for those who want/like sport seats, want/need a very comfortable seat, and want something that feels at home in our cars, then a sport seat conversion is hard to beat.

It's not cheap by any means, but in terms of quality, these Recaro are top notch and can be upgraded to rival anything that is produced today.

And if weight is not an issue, you can have the best of both worlds; the comfort of 12 way electric with whatever options you want, plus the stability and look of sport bolsters.

And do not be concerned with what the inserts look like (944, 911 etc.) that as nothing to do with what the seat will look like once done.

I would tell you what I think it is but, my annual sensitivity training at work has taught me it is best to internalize my thoughts.
And keep them bottled up until I become a depressed psychopath
and take my feelings out with a weapon of mass destruction.

So that's the secret! Dang, I've been spouting off at work left and right thinking it best to get it out. Ok, I'm all over the new strategy like white on rice.

Thanks for the tip.

And no doubt, those seats are scary. You couldn't pay me to touch them.

Eeeeeuuuuuwwwwwwwww.............

Are the bottom seat foam and leather different for the S4 style sports seats VS comfort seats?

Thanks,
Glenn
