Good write up Chuck....how about some more pics of the interior. I REALLY like the OB without the 'S' spoilers...very clean and classy looking.

Thanks guys!

It was really good being able to drive her after so many months as well. She's taken a back seat to the GTS for a while, but I'm making a point to drive her now that she's able to move under her own power again.

Tony, beleive me, the GTS mirrors have been o the list for a long time!

Dean, I'll try to take some pics this weekend when I get her out.

Dan, I think the EFI hose is 5/8, but let me check w Roger.(Or maybe he'll just chime in) The fuel line hose he sells comes in 2 different sizes depending on your model year. I used the bigger of the two.
Also, he has 15mm and 14mm SS clamps for his kits. I used the 15mm clamps for this application.
Sharkskin Dave did the same thing recently and I think he may have used both sizes on his 78, but I'll let him post and give details on that one.

Its thanks to Rennlisters like Chuck, Sharkskin and Landseer that I am in the position to offer fuel hose kits for the earlier cars.

In this case this hose was 3/8" EFI hose SAE30R9.
Clamps are special EFI hose clamps and it is important that you use these type of clamps.

Thanks Guys - Chuck great job - one day you will get a real 928 - one with a RogerBox 8>)

I just completed essentially the same project, but I went through all of the hoses, and I needed two differnt sizes. Details here.

Engine Bay hoses:

Most of my insulation was salvageable:

Not all of it was pretty though:

At least I don't have to worry about this anymore:

Thanks Roger! I love what you are doing to strike the dreaded "NLA" from the vocabulary.

I replaced lots of my hoses/pipes a year or 2 ago. I was able to get the main delivery pipe, engine bay pressure hose, and return pipe in genuine parts, but the engine bay return hose is NLA. Ordering what I thought was the return line rear hose produced the 8' long steel pipe complete with 6" of hose, but fitting it properly would have meant dropping the rear suspension, so I passed on that. Then fitting the delivery pipe could only have been done with the car on a hoist, as it needs to be laced through the auto trans cooler lines....so I cut it, fitted it, joined it. The engine bay hoses, despite spending 10 years in Saudi, were in very good condition (no cracks), but I replaced the pressure line. The return hose at the tank was a bit ragged from being pulled off and back on to the tank fitting - it pulled right off the steel line with barely any effort - fitted new tubing and used a jubilee clamp.
After it was all back together (new pump, replaced tank etc) , I ran the pump for 10mins to leak check it, and after that it fired up first try.

I would not use "Jubilee" clamps on fuel hose.
The edges are sharp and can cut into the hose wall with time and pressure thrusts.
ONLY use EFI clamps with the special curved edges made specifically for this application.

The jubilee is only on the tank return line, no real pressure, and I was careful with it. Certainly wouldnt use them on pressure lines - thats why I used genuine hoses and lines elsewhere.....

So are you selling the proper hoses for a full refurb of the lines on a 78 now, Roger?
