A windshield panel will help a lot with the dash and pod and should help with the seats leather as well keeping the inside heat down....but will do nothing to protect the paint which is just as vulnerable to UV as the interior over time.

Dean,
what about all those products like Zaino, Optima, etc that claim 100 % uv protection if applied properly and re applied properly to protect the paint from uv.?? Do they just make claims and not really pan out as sold?

Hi Andy,
Applying waxes can be a good thing BUT you can actually do it too much. I've seen many show cars who people over time just waxed the paint right off.
They may work but I just can't wrap my head around a wax or polish that is 100% UV proof. I will agree that the color of the car will have a lot to do with how fast UV will do its job. Dark metallics I would say are VERY susceptible to UV damage. Solid lighter colors not so much but still will degrade if left unprotected....BTW Silver will degrade fairly fast so be careful. Mine is Slate metallic and it lives in the garage and I work at home but that may change soon with this economy. If I end up working elsewhere a UV cover will be my first purchase.

With a roll of this stuff you can make a bunch of custom-fitted sunshades. One for each window on the 928 and leftover for the other cars. The windshield and side windows are easy to fit but I'm not sure how I'd mount covers on the 1/4's and hatch.
Maybe a few strategically placed bits of steel glued on the inside perimeter of the windows and hatch and magnets on the custom-cut Reflectix?

I don't know why modern cars don't have auto-opaquing glass.
