I'm a big fan of anything metallic vs. anything flat.
I bought my car because of the wheels and color. In retrospect, I could've purchased a great GTS and had it completely repainted, along with sets of wheels for each of the four seasons, for less. Whoops.
But it's been an interesting learning experience and I am really impressed by the amount of knowledge and innovation produced by the community for a model whose last example rolled off the line somewhere around 14 years ago.

I always look more at the cars condition and if its a color I can live with. Never understood the "car color" thing. Little brother just had to have a SPEED YELLOW Boxster...no other color. When looking at older cars as theses all are now...color is almost unimportant when compared to condition, options, modifications by the PO....but thats just MHO.
( Velvet or coral red with cashmere ) there ya go. But I have a Slate gray with cashmere because of condition and price at the time.

I neglected to mention that I do like the Black cars with Can-Can red interiors, for the sheer audacity.

A thought on color. I wasn't really looking for a 928. I had lost interest in my 944 Turbo and had been looking around for months at various Porsche models and options to decide what Porsche I would replace my 944 Turbo with. I had pretty much decided on a BoxsterS with the sport chrono package when I stumbled on the Iris Blue GTS at Willhoit's. After a week of trying to talk myself out of the car I decided that if I waited finding another one like it just wouldn't happen. There were a number of other really nice GTSs for sale, but they weren't Iris Blue Metallic!

A lot of "pretty" colors there, but white is right. Easy to care for, easier than most to touch up, seems to be missed more easily by the law than other colors, cooler in the summer, and I worry about it less and drive it more. It seems to be a faster color as well.

OK ..."Each year, DuPont Automotive releases its Color Popularity Report, a study analyzing and predicting color trends throughout the world. In 2008, white was the most popular color in North America, making up 20 percent of all vehicles. Black, silver, blue and gray rounded out the top five. ...." Dare to be different .....GO BROWN ! White is just so common.
