Sean, I thought you had a cordless impact already. ???? Wasn't it you that steered me to the Makita 24V combo kit last fall? I ended up buying one from Amazon. Then a month later the local Costco started offering the same kit but with the bigger 3AH lithium batteries and a bonus flashlight for about $25 more. No longer at Costco here but may be on their web store. The Makita kicks butt on the H-F cordless impact, well worth the extra $$ IMHO. Very compact, has a quick-release on it so you can use a socket adapter for 1/2", 3/8" or even 1/4" drives. I did buy the adapters at H-F though. The impact easily pops lug nuts off the 4-Runner, and is short enough to get into places where my standard 1/2" air impact gun won't fit. Would make much shorter work of a MM project, for instance. Variable speed/torque on the trigger. Has a handy little LED bulb for late night or dark undercar wrenching. Fast charger, two batteries in the kit too. Charges faster than I can run a battery down so good for continuous service.
I also see you picked up a set of long allen drivers at H-F. They have a similar set of long impact allens in 3/8 drive that do better for most things I do. Suitable for use in the little Makita cordless impact I suspect.

Their one ton hoist is strong enough to pull a 928 motor but not long enough. It cannot reach deep enough into the engine compartement to get over the center of the motor. Get thier 2 ton hoist. Obviously, these things are really cheap. Strong enough, but be sure to retract the hydraulic cartridge all the way when you are not using it. Normally the shafts on these things are chromed, but of course this one is just polished steel, so it will rust right away if you leave it extended.

yup dr. bob got one of those at Rogers. need one for home use also. I kind of sucks needing tools in two garages. Nothing wrong with duplicates though. Speaking of duplicates, the long allen ones are cheap and great for cutting to the proper lengths. I didn't even see the impact ones, might need to go back.
got the blasting cab ready to go, just need to dump in the crushed walnuts & give it a go. Got real tired of the dust doing an intake stripping last night.
I'm now out of wall space, taking over the doors now. Ang is worried about getting her car in her spot now.
