I've got a friend who recently purchased a 928 and it has popup (not roll up) rectangular headlamps. She was told by the seller that this was a "European" spec car..thus the headlamps.

I can't confirm that these are not aftermarket headlamps.

Can anyone please let me know for sure?

The Euro cars used round headlights..... there were a few aftermarket conversions done but what she was told is false. There MAY have been a couple of "special wish" 928s fitted with the 911 slope nose style lights as well as 930 style rear flares.....

These are not slope headlamps...and I also researched the possibility some special 924 lights but no go there either. Like you, I strongly suspect aftermarket mod.

I'll see if I can dig into the car and find signs of bodywork and will get some pictures as well.
