Default 1979 fuel sending unit electrical cap

I have a 1979 euro 928 and the fuel gauge stopped functioning. I found the problem to be that a wire which connects to the top of the fuel level sending unit in the back on the gas tank to be loose. I further realized that the small black cap on top of the unit that secures the wires was broken. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement cap?

Thanks,

Kyle

928 International (a sponsor of this forum), 928RUS (a sponsor of this forum), 928 Specialists (again, a sponsor of this forum), 928 Worldwide (not yet a sponsor), and probably 10-12 other listers here. Where in this great big old world are you located?

I could not find the part I was talking about on any websites, thats why I asked. I was wondering if anyone new the name so I could look it up. All it is is a small plastic square cap that holds the three wires in place, without it they don't stay connected, I don't want to replace the whole fuel level sending unit, because of a small plastic cap.

If it is a 4-pole connector and the top is the male (I will double check my 79) you need 901 612 891 01.
I sell for $33.58.

Thanks, that sounds about right. I might be mistaken but it looks as of there are only 3 poles? Also does it come with those small metal caps the hold the wires on, I tried solder but it won't stick.

I just checked the one on one of my 79's and it is a 4 pole but only two of the poles are used.
Part number you need is 901 612 891 01 $33.58 each.
Will come out of Germany so allow a couple of extra days if you need one. Comes with the bushes as well.

I'll think on it. I have simply rigged it to work with two alligator clips and some wire. Does the price include shipping?
