Excellent developments Carl. It's amazing what the long Wisconsin winters can make someone do!

Great work Carl ! Very interesting poject... did Taylor redo his computer simulations with the final version you made ?

The only other question I have for you is did you consider loving the injector further up the runner?
Yes, we did. After we chopped off the bolt flanges from the OEM runners, we could more easily examine the location and aim of the stock injector placement. Porsche got it spot-on, (no surprise there) and the injector is very nicely aimed.

Still, one of the reasons you see injectors moved up the runner is that certain high-flow or high-cycle rate injectors have a larger body diameter and they end up moving them up the runner leg purely to get a larger space nvelope to work with. Its not because its better.

We got our injectors in here and they fit in the flanges without interferance - so there was no gain that we could see in moving them up the runner.

Besides - I have a 32v intake to make and this project had to close. Its good enough now to prove or disprove my theory that its the plenum thats holding back the 16v engines from 500 HP.

No, and it would be very interesting to apply the same computer modeling of flow dynamics to this manifold. I'll see if he has time to do it.

Last time, after he had all the dimensions and calculations in it, the computer had to run for almost 2 days to generate the iterations you see there. Its intense!

Carl
Looking forward to your before-after dyno runs.....

BUT I'm really looking forward to your 32V project!! That makes three 32V intakes on the way....

Carl - you so totally ROCK! That's an awesome development. Thanks for all your effort here, just makes these old 16v beast more valuable. i've always loved the intake runners on the 16v 928 - just a lovely octopus lookin' thing. Your's looks like a racer's version of same to me; i would be interested in the power gains even with out an SC. Package that beauty with the Electromotive redo I'd donate my car for THAT tester... after a bit more work. Anyhoo - lovely work. Keep us posted!
