Sebring Shark Shiver Feb.6th-8th Just Around the Corner!
What: Sebring Shark Shiver
When: Feb.6th-8th(Fri-Sun)
Where: Sebring Fl at the 48 Hours of Sebring PCA Races.
Time once again for our annual early year Florida Shark gathering the Sebring Shark Shiver!
It's coming up fast, little over a month away. So mark your calendars now & make your plans for another fun filled 928 get together in the great Florida weather! They'll be lots of Porsche Club Racing to watch; Go Kart Racing & Autocrossing to participate in; Food & Fun to be had by all. If you plan to attend & don't yet have your hotel room, you may be in the 12th hour cause they book up very fast and early each year.
The official PCA race site is: http://www.48hoursatsebring.com/?page_id=51
We'll gather in our regular 928 Corral area reserved for us each year in the infield(Red +), just over the bridge on the left. Like last year, there will be Go Kart Racing available right next to the track(Green X). The dozen or so 928ers that participated in our group karting last year had so much fun, we doubled our track time from initial plans.
New this year for the 1st time, there is an Autocross Challenge being put on by one of the two sponsoring PCA chapters. This will take place on the afternoon of Sat. 7th, with a limit of 75 participants. You must be a PCA member & driving a Porsche to participate. Cost is a mere $30. We already have 4-5 928s signed up should be lots of fun. My understanding is that it will be located in the infield of turns 15 & 16, (Blue box) Here's a link to my local PCA chapter's web page providing details & how to register: http://www.pcafcr.org/events_detail.asp?event_id=89 Also a link to the sponsoring chapter's web similar info & explaining their Autocrosses http://www.goldcoastregion.org/?page_id=99 You must register prior to the event & a helmet is required.
ok, gas is cheaper than its been in a years, so there's no excuse that your Shark will be too expensive to drive. Get it outta the garage, get it ready, & set aside the date! It's a good way to start off the 2009 year with the fellowship & fun with other 928 owners.
Lets start a show of hands of who's planning to attend?

I'll be there. The gokarting alone is worth the trip for me.
I will have a different car this year. I will either be driving the unfinished widebody or the unfinished turbo car. Probably the turbo because it looks much nicer at this point.

We'll be there. Not sure yet which we'll be driving. I'm not sure if the autocross would be a good idea after a bit of socializing. At least I can't do as much damage on a go cart as I could in a 928.

We'll be there working the event, discussion is ongoing about what we'll drive since we'll be in FL for several weeks starting with Daytona 24.

I'll be doing some of the announcing at Sebring; normally I have the microphone Thursday & Friday with the "official" local announcer coming in for Saturday & Sunday. You'll find me around the "Help & Information" tent; see you there!

I'll be there... or I should say - "WE" will be there in mass with a few 928's
Get ready Fabio... Kenny is also registered for the auto X and can drive the karts this year
At the time I signed in 35 of 75 auto X were filled and it appears they added another day on Sunday.
Thank you (once again) for the heads up from "Den Mother Mel"...
