Peeling clear coat

Default Peeling clear coat

Hi, this is a non-928 Q, but I know we have some paint experts on here. The clear coat on my daily driver 95 Accord is starting to peel at the top of the door. I don't want the whole thing to peel off. Is it possible to sand the bubbling area and spray with rattle can clearcoat or something like that to stop the progress. If anyone's done something like this successfully, please advise as to grits of paper, etc. Any help is much appreciated.

I have this issue on my 928 so I'll be following this thread wherever it ends up - I see it alot on our cars FWIW.

Proper repainting is about your only option. I suppose you could try some rattle can clear and see what happens, but I wouldn't have high expectations.

Google ... "clear coat peeling" and you get about 142,000 hits most seem to indicate that once the bond between the color and the clear starts to fail strip and respray is the only real solution.... a wholesaler/dealer might try to reclear it just to get it down the road
