My '91GT's fuel gauge is stuck on Full. The digital "miles to go" readout appears to be working. The gauge sits on empty with power off and while starting the car, but pegs on 4/4 with ignition power.
I did a search, but couldn't find anything with this exact problem. I haven't made any attempts yet, thought I'd pulse the group before even checking grounds.
Thanks for the assist.

sending unit in on top of the gas tank is faulty. You can access this from the round access plate in the rear hatch area.

Thanks Sean.
The book says I'll have to calibrate the system after replacement.
Any idea what "operating lever" they're referring to here?
"Pull the operating lever for the backlit instrument cluster, turning the ignition on at the
same time."
Thanks.

I've been looking for a beer glass that would do that for many years?
As Sean mentions access to the sender is quite easy and Daves write up is what I followed; not a bad project 'for a 928'!

just a note in the WSM it calls for soaking the sender securing nut in boiling water to heat it prior to installation.

I did that; worked like a champ... once it cooled it was nice and tight w/o me trying to overtighten it with the big channel locks.
