Same wheels with 40/265 on rears with stock 21mm spacer.
It's time for new tires, will replace rears with 30/285.
I rolled the fender lip to clear Contis' 40/265, my question is: can I keep spacer or need different thickness?

I was wondering what they would look like on my Granite Green ( which appears to be very simliar to your Meteor). Wow!

I had to pull the spacer for the 285/30's. Perfect fit. It did rub on the inside at sum point but doesn't do it any more. You need to remember that the pilot sports have a edge that protects the rims so their actually wider than the 285's on the side and that's the part that rubbed not the top of the tread.

I think black looks good too, especially on silver cars. Mine are Satin black though.

Thanks for the reply, will not buy pilot sports, probably Sumitomos for performance and price.
How much wider are 285/30 compared to 265/40?
If I remove spacers, open ended lug nuts are necessary.
I was hoping to leave spacer inplace, right now I approximately have !/2" space; tire to fender lip.

How is the ride with 285/30/18 rear? I'm still debating on 265/35 vs 285/30.

What you would expect with but with Bilsteins and the Pilot Sport Ribs I feel is a great combination for the S4. Previously had on Cup 11's with S0-3's all round that was very similar ride. Handling now is incredible. The 285/295's x 30 bring the speedo nearly back to correct speed reading.

Mine are a "semi-flat" but if you want to call them satin... that's okay.

Ride is great. I'm using the original studs with standard closed lug nuts.

I may be the odd ball here but I think the chrome has too much bling.

I looked at the carerra 3s but decided to fit carerra classic 19s instead as they have a bit more design to them i.e. a few more curves and bumps. 19x8 et 57 a perfect fit within specs for the S4 and 19x 11 et 65 rear (21mm spacers). The car looks and handles really well.
