Carrera-lll 18 inch wheels - another good choice for a 928?
Hi list,
I'm on a bit of a mission to find a good 928 wheel option at the moment and after looking at the Carrera-S wheel, I also came across the Carrera-lll (or Carrera-3 I guess...) it's 18x8 & 18x10. The front offset is et57 also.
It looks a lot like a few other 18" porsche wheels but is a little different - seems to be the only one in that 5-spoke style with a 57 offset though... Here is a pic
Just wondering if anyone has fitted this wheel & could post some pics???
Thanks in advance,
Tom

More than a few guys have those wheels. Try doing a search. Or check out this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...gimme-pix.html It has a lot of options.

Just put these on. No spacer on rear. 50mm front 65mm rear. 285/30/18 rear 225/40/18 front. no rubbing issues. Could go 295 in rear with small spacer possibly.

6 mils are a different wheel than your looking at. Spokes are pointed, 3's are flat. I have 3's, pic in avitar.
Have 265 in rear and will fit with factory spacer but you have to roll the lip. Think you can go 295 with no spacer or a very small one.
235/40's up front and they barely rub when I turn into alley or parking lot. My car sets really low which I am sure has something to do with it.
I think your correct, 57mm is about the closest offset I could find in a 5 spoke.

Yes, you want the Carrera III's. There are three wheel sets that look very similar. Out of those, only the Carrera III's have a good enough front offset of 57mm. In fact, it really is a rarity to find such nice wheels that fit the front of the 928 so well. I have them on mine, check the avatar.

I had them on my '87 S4 and they fit perfectly, no spacers or fender rolling required.

I also have them on my 88S4....with the stock 997 tires of 235/40-18 front and 265/40-18 rear...they fit perfect with no rubbing at all and in fact you can go quite a bit wider in the rear if you want....

When I change the tires out I'm going to 235 or 245 on the front. 225 looks to naro in my opinion. The 285 rears are staying though their perfect.
