Default Cold Air Intake Tube Replacement

Does anyone have a source to replace the plastic intake tubes with a polished metal tube system? I want to leave the plastic plenum at the rear engine wall as is.

Thanks

I'm not sure of any that made it to the market. Performance gains are questionable, they do look awesome.

airosey had his own made:

ceedee looked into making a set, not sure where that project went:

The intake tubes do need to be able to flex - assuming you have motor mounts that aren't big chunks of steel - as the motor rocks back and forth on its mounts. So, they cannot be solid metal from radiator-mounted inlet to airbox.

also metal isnt the best for an intake as it will heat up to whatever temp air is blowing on it, the plastic version is better

There is a person that sells the after market ones with color. he was at Sharktoberfest a couple of years ago, but I got mine from him off e-bay, and the price was very reasonable

I used this stuff

http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?p=134RSL76&a=i

but in black with yellow stitching.
I used the standard 'ends' and then used this stuff. Its bullet proof.

I used it as turbo intake piping on an offroad Land Rover and it stood up to incredible abuse

I sell the air tubes as seen above in post #5 - available for both early and late cars with a red, blue or black insert. $75 the pair. Much cheaper than the factory ones at $60+ each.

He most certainly can.

Look at the 'business card' at the bottom of his post.

The website has been improved recently, but the best way to get in touch is directly. E-mail or phone call. (both the E-mail addy & phone # are right there).

If you decide to make a real phone call, budget an extra 15 minutes or so.
Whenever I talk to Roger, we always spend that time just talking about the cars.
