New door arm rest repair kit ??

Ah... I was going to have the dealership do this long ago when they had the car for something else. They didn't have the part, didn't order the part and were going to charge me a few hours for the job... That seemed high to me for a door arrestor! You are correct though...WYAIT get it done! I didn't realize the door panel removal was so involved and time consuming such that the dealer needed to charge me 3 hours labor! I guess it isn't that big a deal but they charge as much as they can get away with and then some!

I have the Jager pieces in stock.
The reason I offer the Jager pieces is not that I don't like the Australian brackets from 928 International. In fact, I think they are a great product, and even offered these for a short while.
However, as a Jager rep, it did not make sense for me to stock two competitive products which I don't sell in significant quantities. The Jager product is adequate for most cases, less expensive, and easier to ship.
But there are cases where the Australian solution is the better choice. I think it's great there are different choices available. By all means, order the best solution you can find for what you are trying to fix!

If it takes a Dealer Tech an hour to do a door stay replacement he should sell his tool box and go back to flipping hamburgers..... Standard "book time" for the stay is 1.5 hours but only .3 with the door panel off. Removing a door panel takes just a few minutes IF BIG IF you have done one before.

I bought the Jaeger kit for my driver's door and put on the rear piece. Something to be aware of is they recommend you Dremel-down the raised plastic sections to make the reinforcing piece fit closer. That took a fair amount of time.
Once you do that, all else is quick and solid.
BTW, if anyone wants the other piece, the one that reinforces the front mounting area on the driver's side, I did not need to repair that area and will part with it for $10 plus shipping.

I stock the 928 Int arm rest supports as they are IMOO the best.
I also stock the factory door supports and they sell for $30.95 each.
I tried the Jaeger arrestor fix but it failed three times. The real fix is not a lot of difference in $.

I installed the Jager kit on my driver's side a couple of months ago. It works pretty well. I used 1/8
aluminum 'pop' rivets and aluminum back up washers instead of the small sheet metal screws that
came with the kit. Porsche should have added fiberglass to the plastic when injection molding these
pieces. Many cars with plastic outside door handles have this. The unpainted ones 'sparkle' from the
exposed fiberglass ends.
