The blured background is photoshoped ..... Yea right ! The 928 is faster it hits 171 MPH @ Fontana into the turn. Mark is a very good driver just not so good at self promotion .

Thanks for sharing, Mark.

This thread could have also been titled, "A GT3 Cup Champion comes out of the closet."

Congratulations Mark! Shows that it really is the driver and not the car.

Nicely done, except the part of not knowing who was running Porsche though...

What a great read!

Very cool that you were able to meet and hang out with the management at Porsche.

So how about a track comparison of the GT3 vs a 928?

Thanks again for the story.

Thanks for the write-up! I love the story with Herr Wiedeking! Now I know how to get his business card...

I hope to see the museum in the upcoming year. It's nice to know the 4-door is now in Stuttgart; the guys in Langenburg were not very helpful with information about it.

Still, it should not be mixed-up with the green 4-seater 2-door that Ferry got for his birthday in 1984.

Did they give any additional info on that amethyst 4-door? Did THEY say it was Ferry's car?

Big Congrats Mark! It does show everyone your driving abilities no matter what you're driving. Sounds like a lifetime memorable experience. The story was great to read, I thought only I did things like your conversation with Herr Wiedeking! Very funny, I'd like to have seen & heard your reaction once you read his card!

Congrats Mark! Great job. I too would like to hear your thoughts on the GT3 VS the 928 as track cars.

I wanna see picture of the Cup car with a BIG 928 INTL windshield sticker on it.

Glad you have fun.
If I had been poking around for 45 minutes on that GPS, it would not have been a functional unit by then.

Thanks for sharing the story Mark, very cool trip!

I had to laugh because I've been in that same situation (umm the rental car part, not the drinking with the CEO of Porsche part), flew into Munich, made my way thru the terminals to the upstairs rental car place, they were sold out of the little car I reserved so I happily upgraded to an MB turbo-diesel (mine was a 4-door 300 class, score), walked thru the big modern courtyard over to that huge parking garage and finally found the car, only to struggle with the German GPS system until well outside of Munich and off and on for the rest of trip. Man I love driving over there! Can you post the pics you took before you got busted or would that be bad form?
