My (German) '91 GT has the same red marking at 50 km/h and so does my Golf. Seem to recall seeing it in several Mercedes models too, so it seems to be common in German cars.

It seems 0283 is not last 5sp GTS. There is later VIN '95 manual for sale in Germany. Its VIN is 0354 IIRR. In any case 035x and clearly later than factory car. Engine has correct G28/49 number and option sticker confirm it was manual from the start. Color code is very likely 39V Iris blue metallic but could be 39U Deep sea blue metallic. Fax picture of option sticker isn't best possible. No special options at all. In fact its one of least equipt GTS I have ever seen. Someone please go get it so I don't have to. Ask for Alex and tell I send you.

Interesting... some people drove this car, not realizing what they might have had.
BTW: Initially, I thought this could be from the special edition run they did towards the end of production. But then I found that the edition was automatic only. Their slogan for the edition: "The most beautiful reason not to drive a 911."
They sure got that right!

I meant obviously M28/49 and G28/57 in option sticker.
Didn't Iris blue and Amazon green special edition have Classic grey raff leather? This has basic perforated setup and normal alu front fenders instead of wider exclusive department steel setup.
It was owned by Porsche up to 1998, then by some some company up to 2001 and then on by doctor something or another. Has very very few options for factory owned car.

Actually, the special edition was not available in Amazon green, but Aventura Green. Amazon green had already been phased out at the end of the 1993 model year.
And yes, the edition had Raffleder seats and widened front fenders.

Did factory actually even do those special editions and if they did, how many? I can't recall seeing any for sale, ever. What was wheel ET at front. IIRR they were 8" wide with those fenders.

I don't know how you can verify this. Their sales literature does not say anything about ET - only that the fronts are 8" wide
A summary of the options included:
aventura green or iris blue metallic paint
full leather interior with supple leather seats (Raffleder), leather dash and airbag wheel, leather luggage cover
Heated seats left and right
Blaupunkt radio Bremen RCM
Sunroof
8" front wheels and widened fenders
