And if the Holbert car did 180mph with near 293rwhp, then it is safe to say, that it would take 405rwhp to hit the 200mph mark with no changes. kind of what we saw with the Devek machine, right?

Rich is right, George and I hit 165 in the NORC last May
which was our tech speed, thats the end result of a 12 mile long straightaway that we started at over 150, perhaps we had a little more
but not much.
But my 88 has 150K on the engine @ Bonneville with no mirrors and a big run into the speed trap 171 would be doable, esspically with the factory Porsche guys on hand
.... With the 2.2 rear end @ 165 your not even close to redline so I agree with Hacker-Pschorr the rev limiter doesn't come into play at all.
Nicole thats too cute, looks like I should be looking for a set of GTS mirrors

Supposedly, you can gain about 3mph top speed with the GTS mirrors over the standard Obama Ear style mirrors.

Prove it.
The argument you were trying to make is the rev limiter on the car in question would need to be raised in order to reach 180mph. With a 2:20 dif (which this car has) that is 100% BS.
It's a simple calulation Brett, what figure are we missing??
The argument you were making was not "if a stock 928 coult hit 180mph".
You were claiming that in order to reach 180mph you would need to raise the rev limiter. This is false when the 928 has a 2:20 diff. It has nothing to do with the rev limiter.
Are you finally catching on here?
Since I'm sure you are still confused, maybe this post will help clear things up for you:

CD has nothing to do with the rev limiter
All the best

yes, I have this car and have been racing it for 7 years now.
This chassis has had quite a life. Over 21 years, it broke the WR land speed record for production cars, was an IMSA pace car, and was then raced for 7 full racing seasons with out a DNF, while most always driven to the track and back! 108 racing days logged so far. a true testimate to porsche engineering!
(and Amsoil

I still have to believe that Porsche did some sort of mods to car. Carefully balanced it? Blueprint? Something. It's not natural for a car to endure all that abuse without some sort of magic hidden in it. The fact they ran different cams points to them giving it serious (non stock) prep thought.
