wiper synchronization
on one of the cold mid-atlantic mornings last week, the driver's side wiper blade froze to the windshield. This was undetectable until I turned the wipers on and the passenger glade began cycling and the driver blade couldn't budge. Now the driver's wiper blade motion seems to be biased in its sweep. It wants to wipe less closely to the outer edge of the drivers side of the windshield and wants to move more down on to the hood. The sweep seems to have shifted. Any way to realign the wiper's sweep?

check all of the wipers hold down nuts if one is loose odds are good that others are as well.
I would remove the arm that wasnt turning and check the splines, if they are gone then it would be wise to replace the wiper arm before you use the wipers again, otherwise even though the nut may be tight the arm can slip and if it does it could run onto the hood (not good).
Cycle the wipers with arm off then position with the blade about 1 1/2 in above the lower molding spray the windshield with water and test the wipers. if you dont like where the blade stops readjust

I just replaced a wiper motor yesteday. Pretty easy to remove arm from splines with small pry tool.
A 944 motor will fit, BTW, but needs some leads to be reversed.
