Trans fluid res vent hose size?
Can someone tell me the correct size of the hose that vents the trans fluid res back to the trans body. This is for my 84'. Mine was old and brittle and cracked. I found a close fit but it is still a little loose and I believe I have a leak from where it slides over the nipple. What have you guys used when replacing this part? The local parts store does not have trans tubing in that small of an ID.

mine is leaking as well I was considering just cutting off a small piece and slipping it back on the nipple. but reversing the ends (IE trans body end now goes to tank ) I cant find it on the PET

I believe it is just a standard size metric hose. Hose is measured like tubing, by inside diameter (I.D.).
I've also tried looking for this hose in the PET. Even looked in the PET for 944, but found nothing. It's probably not listed because its just standard metric hose.
Most commonly available synthetic rubber hose compounds are rated OWG (oil, water, gasolene). Since this is a vent hose, pressure is not a concern. It just needs to be the right size for it to fit the fraigle bib of the plastic tank.
I have no idea of the I.D., but if it is 4.0mm, then this hose would probably work. But then, who needs 49 feet?
