I can't remember if Jason said he had the car in his shop yet? Do you guys know if it is at his place? If so someone can take my trailer (once I get my car unloaded) up to his place and pick his car up for display during OCIC! Heck, Jason probably has his on trailer...get it down to the display area man!

Default Thanks for all the posts...

Hacker-Pschorr...if you have a disassembled 88 that would be fine by me as my father, Bud Hart, will be in town in December to assemble the 6.0l engine and remaining transmissions. Feel free to call me at 972-898-3952.

Mark...Thanks for the kind words. It is true that my father is responsible for assembling/engineering Bob Devores @6.5l engine and was in the dyno room with Bob and the dyno operator Ken when it ran 711hp NA!!!

Thanks every else as well for the warm welcome!

If anyone remembers issue #22 circa 1990 of Excellance Magazine with Bob's car on the cover calling him the "Arizona Highwayman", that too was a car my father built back when he owned "Bud Hart Porsche Racing" in Santa Clara, CA. You can also see his business name on the license plate frame in the pictures. Later, Bob ended up hiring my father to help design/engineer/build the machines that make the then Intel Pentium computer chips after he sold the business.

The car on my avitar is version 1 of a car we built in the mid 90's. That is actually day one of track testing. That tub based car weighed 2381lbs with me in it full of fuel with 10.5" slicks at the corners. We were running a stock 928 long block that had 125,000+ miles on it and only put headers and cams in it along with a dry sump oil system. The new car is to be much lighter...@2000lbs!!!, with 13" fronts and 14" rears, one off body work and a full tube frame with my fathers suspension engineering and the 6.0l engine to produce somewhere in the neighborhood of 600hp...so we hope.

We are really hoping to pull the cover off the car at OCIC and do a few laps on the track!!! I will have some of the stock parts for sale in the coming weeks as we have a few pieces that will no longer be needed.

It's true...I may be a bit proud of the old man. Cheers to all, Jason Hart

That edition of Excellence, "Arizona Highwayman", was to me the Bible of 928 reading. I must have read that article thousands of times. I lost the magazine about a year ago when moving. Bummmer

I'll bounce it off Tim, since he has a GTS trans in his 88 I don't think he has any use for this one. I cannot remember why it was taken apart, but since it's still in pieces you can inspect everything, replace as needed or what's missing.....

Default Issue #22 and 5-Speed in pieces...

FBIII and anyone wanting that issue you can contact Excellance and get a copy for $10. If you do please let the editor know why you want it and your interest in 928's as I am propositioning the editor Pete Stout about doing a follow up article when our car is finished!

Hacker-Pschorr Thanks in advance for your efforts with your friend who has the 88 in pieces. I look forward to hearing from one or both of you.

If anyone in the DFW area knows a painter who would be interested in doing the paint work for a fair price let me know. I am not really wanting 60hrs of blocking since it is a race car after all. Just a fair price for a shiny coat of RED!
Cheers, J:-)

Jason, talk to Roger about the paint. The shop that does all his cars does a decent job for a good price. I'm sure they would be willing to cut out some quality and save you a few $$.
