Seems from the post I've read these two sensors should be replaced on any older car.I know what they look like I just can't find them. My car is a 1989 S4 auto. Also where is the Temp II sensors? Is that on the intake right in the front? Thanks for any help.
OK ..."Down in the valley, valley so low
Hang your head over, hear the train blow ..." as noted buried under the intake with lots of other parts to refresh.
Temp sensor II is on the water bridge in front of the intake manifold. The switch on top of the manifold is for post-run fan operation to limit intake temps during hot-soak conditions.
there are 2 temp sensors on the water bridge, the one with the bosch/AMP connector is the temp 2 .
the other one with the male ends is for the coolant gauge on the dash
Just sold my 2005 Maserati coupe, Been to hell and back with that car. Would pop the hood look around then close the hood since nothing there made and sense. Call the dealer to ask "What could that XXXX be" "Not sure take it in, Next opening in two weeks And by the way I wouldn't drive it since you don't want to get stuck" Two weeks later I get the car in, Next day " Bad ground thats why the temp light came on. Two and a half weeks of prime summer time driving wasted. I got three more stories just like this. How nice to not only have a car I can work on but a website with so many smart people to learn from.

Well, this car never has any ground problems.
Yeah, that was sarcasm, BUT you have friends here that can and will help and sharks are special, not that a Maserati isn't.
