Sounds like the vacuum advance is not working. Make sure the vacuum line is connected to the correct port on the throttle body. Vacuum advance stops around 3500rpm so that would explain how power gets better with rpms.

Or timing was set at 3000rpms with the vacuum advance still connected. Should be disconnected and plugged when setting the timing.

Where does the green wire (coming from the distributor) connect? That is, where is the other end so that it can be tested for continuity and shorting?

Also....does anyone have the specs for testing the airflow meter (ohm readings in open and closed positions)?

Thanks

The green wire runs across the front of the engine from the distributor to a connector just behind the bank 1-4 cam gear. the circuit runs to the ignition box which iss mounted to the bulkhead just forward of the jump post.

I'll have to look up the AFM readings... my air flow sensor has no wires.

OK, attached. From WSM Page 24-20.

I've got a intermittent problem as well. Around 4K RPM's my car will cut out like the fuel injection looses power or something. doesn't do it all the time seems to be worse when it's cold. Timing is on my list and so is the green wire. Anyone have a picture of the green wires route?

Hmmm... found a pic of the old wire...

You can kind of see it here, just in front of the lift loop over cylinder #1. (This pic was taken during my first weekend of ownership -- go easy on me. )

Did you install the new Green Wire yet? If so, did it help?

No, It won't get here until next week. Right now I am working on my Megasquirt setup,(for datalogging), so that when I get the green wire I can make some runs.

Ooscar, It would be helpful to know if your thermister tables are in C or F

but yes it does look like a lean stumble.

Collin,
They are in F.

The next step is to hook up the Megasquirt to control the fuel. I am really debating making a harness for the injectors and leave the Ljet alone, but I am still tossing around the idea of a separate box that will replace the LJET running MS.

Wouldn't an issue with the green wire cause a miss and therefor a rich reading on the O2 sensor? I'm not seeing the green wire as the real culprit.

Actually no a miss will read lean as the fuel is unburnt, when the mixture ignites it uses the oxygen particles and this is what it reads. No fire, no using of the oxygen = more oxygen meaning lean.
