Default 86.5 paint job pics

hi
this is my first 928 ,108k on the clock ,with a clean bill of health
when i got the car ,it kinda looked ok . .i ve seen a few ones and they all looked ok ,but never as good as some pristine 911 from the same time .so i thought i could bring one up to its former glory

since then i have been doing some some work on the car

next will be the interior , a full interior in leather and a full recarpet
a remodeling of the centre console to accomodate a 2 din hdd navigation unit

my biggest problem is choosing the right interior ,i could redo it in burgundy ,but couldnt help thinking it sort of old color specially a burgundy carpet
i ve imagined something burgundy but a lot lighter ,or maybe all burgundy but seat and carpet much in light grey with burgundy piping/stitching ,god so many combination it sort of a a nightmare

anyone got any ideas ? preferably backed with pics
regards
andre

Very nice!!

My favorite color too!

I've contemplated redoing the interior in mine to a burgundy with all Classic Gray carpeting. My wife who isn't colored blind thinks I'm nuts. She suggested using a Slate gray carpet like what is in one of my 5speeds, or using a charcoal gray. My thoughts was to lighten up the footwells with the Classic gray and still have the deep, rich burgundy leather and paneling. Sorry no pics...

The paint looks great, nice job. For the interior you could go with a lite gray carpet on the floors and doors then use burgundy for the door panels and roof, I would stay away from pinstriping the seats with another color

I've always liked contrasting piping, Like Classic Gray seats with burgundy piping.

Here's grey with burgundy in a Roll's Royce...

but a burgundy leather seat with a lite color might look a bit tacky, I think a lite color with a dark pin looks better, maybe Paul Champiagn has some better pictures

Am I reading the faintest signs of Burgundy love? Warms my heart. Replacing my carpet with grey carpet soon to break-up my all burgundy interior, need a little contrast.

Very nice paint job!!!

I went with marble grey AKA silver grey carpet from Rob Budd. I really like the way the carpet came out, and I think the light carpet with darker seats looks cool.

Just looked at a new Bentley with their version of Burgundy (don't know what they call it) very similar to what we have-so what's old is now new.

hi all
thanks for the compliments ,the car is booked for the 8th november so a bit under pressure
this is my thoughts
burgundy dash/pod /doors /centre console light grey seats and carpet .burgundy piping on seats and floor mats

matador red (looks very similar to the paint job on the swatch !!!) everything with a shade lighter matador red on piping and carpet

all light grey with burgundy piping

also thinking about aero mirrors !!! is that allowed these days ?

the stereo fitters will be changing all the light bulb with led ones ,since the pod and dash is coming out ,should look decent i think . i will post some more pics when i next visit the fitters
thanks
andre

thanks Shane . i thought they looked better

i noticed that yours is also burgundy inside ,mine was at some point ,it turned sort of brownish .you could see at the bottom that the color was much lighter ?
you wouldnt know where i can get a picture of a gleaming porsche burgundy interior .i suppose seats and dash will use the same leather ? will contrast stitching look any better ?
