James,
No it will not though I have seen it done that way.
Freon is a very "seeking" medium and the temps and pressures are very different to low pressure fuel.
All the A/C hoses are very easy to have rebuilt with the latest barrier hose at about $30 to $50 each.

Nice work Roger - I have the same fix on the to-do list for my 81. I have a spare set of hoses I need to "fix" then install.

As mentioned earlier, watch out for the EFI tubing. It is not made to handle a continuous pressure of 90 to 95 lbs that is normal on CIS systems. The OEM lined tubing is the safest and longest wearing.

Regular fuel line hose is rated for 50psi working pressure / burst pressure 250psi. This is per SAE - 30R7. Minimum bend radius is 2.75 (or a 5.5" circle).
Fuel unjection hose is rated for 125psi working pressure / 900psi burst pressure per SAE - 30R9. Minimum bend radius is 3.75 (or a 7.5" circle).
The tubing Tim Murphy uses in his kits and what I used to replace my lines is rated for 300psi continuous, bursts over 1,000psi.

Dennis,
I beg to differ - SAE30R9 hose is made specifically for the EFI and CIS applications. Continuous working pressure is 125psi so CIS at 90psi and EFI at 60psi are well within the capabilites of the EFI hose.
If you are thinking about Fuel Hose - SAE30R7 - I would agree with you.
Best,
Roger
OR WHAT HACKER SAID - sorry

Roger,
The lower rated hose is about the only thing available at the local parts store for EFI. IIRC it is just labeled hi-pressure fuel line hose. Not sure how the OEM hose is rated, but I have seen it shed the outer rubber portion and still maintain its integrity.

Dennis,
EFI hose is readily available at the local auto stores here, however you have to be very specific and ask for EFI hose and not fuel hose. EFI hose will state SAE30R9 on it.
That is why I am very careful to emphasis EFI hose.
It is also essential to use EFI clamps that have the ability to close up uniformly without pinching the rubber hose at all. They have rolled edges as well so as not to cut into the wall of the hose.
