Default 928 stereo

When I bought my 928 the stereo it was a PO modified stereo that did not work so I bought a replacement stereo with a stock amp bought from a rennlist member. I wired the stereo to the stock amp and powered the stereo up and had smoke pouring out of the amp. OK so I figured that the amp was line in not speaker in, hence the smoke. So I bypassed the fader **** and the amp and my stereo rocks. I have a Pioneer DEH-2000MP. Funny story with a good ending. So if anyone asks if your factory amp is line in or speaker in, it's line in, otherwise your amp will blow.

I had the EXACT same good luck.... smoke and all. I used line-in and still had smoke. So thats not it.... But anyway, that stock amp, by todays standards is junk. Im sure in its day it was king ****. I bypassed the fader also and the stereo sounds better than it ever did. And I am not using any other amp then the one in the head unit.

I just adopted this German bitch, pure bred w/papers, from a ghetto, used as a breeder, never disiplined, never loved, just used and neglected. It amazes me, daily, how far she comes with care and attention. At first I literally tried to bring her back ( she was a nut case) but I changed my mind and she returns my love with 10x's more back. My wifes even getting jealous <snicker> .
I'll have to take some pics with her in the shark...coming soon!

it is a **** beside the driver seat, near the rear hatch release mounted on the cover for the parking brake lever.

There is no fader by the drivers seat on an 89. The fader control is on the head unit.

I have found the exact opposite to be true.

since we are talking about the same group of people, the only change is it's from either your perspective, or my perspective.

Since we have figured out that the variable is which one of us interacts with the group, what are the actual changes in behaviour needed to get such wildly differing outcomes.

I lurked for a couple of years, soaking up technical knowledge, digging into various members pages outlining thier repairs, and saved many many thousands of dollars by doing the repairs myself, with their outlines as help.

Then, after I read the admin post at the top of the page, I started posting technical questions, once in a while, and thanking those who responded.

After awhile longer, realizing that I had derived great benefit from this site, I became a member, contributing something to the maintinence of the place I had used for my own benefit.

Try that, see if you don't have a new experience.

Hell, you probably don't even need to change your name, just try not being such a pain in the butt.
