Parting out a 1988 S4 5 Spd with LSD
I have a 88 S4 with a 7-cylinder engine... Has anti-lock brakes, 5 speed with LSD, all the usual stuff. Sunroof car. Blue leather interior. Photos below.
I was going to put a motor in it and make it drive again, but time and retail prices have shortened up to where that does not make sense.
So, if you need any parts off of it, just email me at carl@928motorsports.com
and we'll talk.
Thank you for your interest.

So far all we have done is remove the intake manifold. If you peer down the #4 spark plug hole you can see the connecting rod.... the piston is MIA.
We have this car in the shop right now and are using it purely as a plug to mold up a one-piece glass front end for my race car. After I pull a front clip mold from this car, I dont need it anymore.

Carl,
That looks like a pretty nice S4 from the exterior. Cant you save it?
You must have 5.0L pistons laying around somewhere though? I guess it just got tired and left the game huh? Where the hell did it go?

I have had several emails about taking the whole car. Thats fine with me, you can have the whole car as-is for $4k after I pull my hood-and-fender mold from the front of it.
I also have a 1985 32v engine with 78,000 miles on it from a different car that I was going to drop in here and make a runner. I'd sell that motor for $2500. Put the 1988 manifold on the 85 engine and you'd have yourself a runner!

By-the-way - the pictures dont show rust bubbles at the attachement points where the rear fibreglass fenders were attached, driver seat bolster torn in the usual place. AC is unknown whether it worked or not. Interior in pretty good condition considering the mileage. Small cracks in dash but not as bad as most I have seen. Chassis has 300,000+ miles on it - DEVEK rebuilt the transaxle in 2003.

Dang, I was hoping the car was in one complete piece like in the pictures. Thanks for the quick response Carl. Was doing the math on getting it, picking it up and transfering all the goodies from mine to it and it just wouldn't work the way I would want it to.

It is in one piece so far. All we have removed is the headlamp buckets and front turn signal lenses so we can pull our mold. I can put them back on if someone buys the whole car.
But, once I start selling off bits and pieces (like I was planning to at the start of this post) then the concept of buying the whole car will have been lost.
