The car is 30 miles from my house so I may look at it this Sat? The Owner said he turned down an offer of 5500... I think he's looking for 10k'ish. looks like a clean car though!

He should have taken the 5500. Hard times right now and the car is only worth 7 on the high end. IMHO

VIN says its '79 MY which automatically means it can't be S model. Also engine looks like '78-79 MY 4.5L which means it has 240 hp. Only S parts in it are spoilers and sticker at the back. Even steering wheel is 4.5L part.

It is an AUTOMATIC that detracts from the "collector" value for many people . Rare car , high performance and convertibles tend to be the key to high value.....the 928 is not meant to be a convertible , and the three speed auto does not fit with the perception of performance. The $5,500 "offer" is probably more than the sale will see.

Right around the transitions I am not sure the VINs always tell the tale accurately, but in addition that does not look like a S intake spider to me. So I agree. Non S.

Not a twin distributor, but I'm not sure that means non-300 hp for that year.

There were 3049 ROW cars made during '79 MY. 1276 is so early VIN that this car was very likely actually made already in late 1978. For it to be '80 MY S VIN would have to be 92A0820xxxx. 92A0800xxxx would be '80 MY 4.5L ROW.

It dose looks clean. So all you have to do is slap a sticker and now it is a "S"? Where can I find some GTS sticker?

Only '84 Euro, '85 Euro, and '86 Euro had twin distributors. 310 h.p.. Earlier Euro models had single distributor. IIRC

It's still cool... I would even have the matching Pascha scarf to wear when driving it!

If it's an '80, it's a twin to my friend Steven's, who I hope is caravaning down to Sharktoberfest with me.

But Nicole, would it be the blank & brown pascha? You have to match!

Where did the Pascha name come from anyway?
